About Saint Mary’s Church
Saint Mary’s church is a Roman Catholic church situated in Valley of Shepherds, Gulmarg. This church was built in 1902 during British rule. It was made from grey brick with a green roof and decorated with wooden interior walls, famously described as a “Victorian architectural Wonder”.
The church was renovated in 2003 after which the first Christmas mass was organized. However, nowadays there is no regular mass held here.
St Mary’s church is located near the Gulmarg Golf Course. This church is counted as one of the top tourist attractions in Gulmarg and is one of the most calm places in the town.
It offers an enchanting site to tourists as the church backdrops the snow-clad Himalayan mountains.
