Gulmarg Golf Course is a significant attraction located in Gulmarg Meadow in the district of Baramulla. The golf course lies at an altitude of 2650 meters (8690 feet) above sea level, making it the world’s second-highest green golf course.

This golf course was opened in 1911 by the British. The origin of Gulmarg Golf Club traces back to the late 19th century when Colonel Naveilie Chamberlain built a six-hole course inside the meadow of Gulmarg.

The first golf championship was held in 1922 with the introduction of Nedou’s Cup in 1929. The golf course was later on redesigned by Peter Thomson in 1970 and turned into Gulmarg Golf Club.

In 2011, the golf course was again redesigned by a Delhi-based golf architect  Ranjit Nanda. This 18-hole long golf course is India’s longest hole featuring 16 different varieties of wildflowers.
